ICON Clinical Research Lead Compliance Specialist in Sofia, Bulgaria

Job responsibilities:

  • Supporting and implementing Global Records Management (GRM) strategy across the business.

  • Collaborating with the business, and a variety of internal teams, to manage the implementation of the GRM retention schedule.

  • Liaising with and responding to queries from internal and external stakeholders on GRM matters.

  • Supporting the coordination of GRM related projects and initiatives by the wider teams across the business to promote the GRM agenda.

  • Monitoring performance against GRM objectives and targets, regularly communicating progress to stakeholders.

  • Preparing GRM reports in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors.

  • Conducting GRM trainings independently for employees at different levels, develop training materials and monitor training progress.

  • Supporting on a range of issues relating to the operationalization of the Global Data Protection Program

  • Project Management and change management e.g. projects relating to internal governance structures such as privacy champion network, upgrade projects of components of the privacy program and internal approval processes.

  • Supporting the business and the Data Protection Team in the review of new systems/products.

  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders as needed in the development and implementation of program needs.

  • Assisting in the resolution of data protection issues across the business

  • Working closely with the DPO, Director of Privacy Ops and Infrastructure and Business Partners to roll-out ICON’s data protection strategy.

  • Collaborate with and support internal stakeholders to drive ICON’s revenue while mitigating data protection/privacy related risks.

  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to embed Privacy Impact Assessment processes in other operational activities – i.e. change management/product and service development.

  • Implementing communications plans to roll out policies and procedures.

  • Developing metrics to monitor and measure effectiveness of compliance framework and gather data for regular reporting.

  • Maintaining documentation of compliance activities, such as training and framework development.

  • Provide support across the wider ICON where necessary, in response to business demands and requirements.

Job requirements:

  • BSc degree in business discipline with previous experience in a similar role or as a senior business consultant/commercial background.

  • Experience with records management, record retention, record deletion.

  • Privacy matters understanding is required.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Experience with program management would be beneficial.
